CABOOSE 1520

Built in 1921 by the "Santa Fe"and American Car and
Foundry Company. One of a series of twelve.

A community drive fund to purchase a caboose began in
early 1983. Merchants, civic groups, and people of Temecula
donated $5,000,00.

On September 13, 1983, through efforts by George Buhler,
the caboose was donated by Larry Cena of the Atchison, Topeka
and Santa Fe Railway. Resulting in the drive fund being used
for restoration.

The caboose is located on the former "right-of-way" of the
California Southern Railway. Being demolished in 1935.
